Effective Dry Eye Treatment for Lasting Comfort and Relief
Box Eye Care is proud to offer dry eye treatment for our patients. Ocular Surface Disease, also known as dry eye, can occur from certain medications, naturally by aging, or as a symptom arising from systemic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, or Lupus.
If you have a minor case of dry eye, you may be experiencing irritation, excessive tearing, fluctuating vision, and/or a burning sensation in your eyes. Excessive dry eyes, or dry eye symptoms that go untreated, have the potential to damage eye tissue, scar your corneas, and impair your vision.
What is Dry Eye Syndrome?
Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) happens when the eyes don’t produce enough tears or produce low-quality tears.
This results in the eyes not having enough moisture, which irritates the eyes. Symptoms include dryness, itchiness, grittiness in the eyes, redness, light sensitivity, and blurred vision.
The most common cause of dry eye is meibomian gland dysfunction.
Forma-I
We are delighted to now offer Forma-I at Box Eye Care to address dry eye symptoms!
Forma-I is a cutting-edge, in-office, non-surgical drug and pain-free treatment. The compact size of the applicator makes it ideal to treat the periorbital area. During the treatment, bi-polar radio-frequency heat ‘melts’ the oil in the glands that are responsible for lubrication and nourishment of the eye. The result is restored eye lubrication and comfort in your everyday life.
And as a cosmetic bonus, we also are stimulating collagen and elastin production in the treatment area, which helps to address laxity and improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
